Summary: SecureMac has released an update to its multiple award-winning (details below) PrivacyScan software that includes new support for Opera 15 and the Chromium web browser, bug fixes, an improved user interface, reduction in price and a 15-day free trial.

As various legal debates regarding Internet consumer privacy rage on, SecureMac, the leading authority on Apple Macintosh security, has released the v1.3 update to its critically acclaimed PrivacyScan software. In addition to the usability updates (including new support for Opera 15 and Chromium), the software is now available directly from the PrivacyScan website as a 15-day free trial.

PrivacyScan works like a digital document shredder, identifying and eliminating hidden threats that may compromise privacy when accessed by advertisers or snoopers trying to see where someone has been surfing. It removes the internet clutter that accumulates in cache and history files while browsing the web. PrivacyScan eliminates traces of what files and apps were accessed on the computer, covering the user’s digital tracks behind them while saving valuable hard drive space.

After many positive reviews from mainstream Apple Mac publications, including MacWorld and MacLife, and the resulting bout of considerable success, SecureMac has dropped the price of PrivacyScan from $14.99 down to $7.99 for a limited time. PrivacyScan is available for purchase from the Mac App Store – http://itunes.apple.com/app/privacyscan/id494950833?ls=1&mt=12 and directly from SecureMac.

In an interview, SecureMac’s CEO, Nicholas Raba stated:

“These days people are taking their privacy more seriously than ever, especially when browsing the Internet and using computers. We’ve been in security for a long time and we’re proud to provide people with peace of mind that their privacy is not being compromised or violated.”
